Well over the past few years I've had an inspiration issue. I attribute it to being quit depressed about were I was living. Would pick up the guitar here and there and acationaly would come up with or find something interesting to play. It would only last a couple of days then hung back up. A lot had to do with that i had no place to play without bothering the family, damn 100 watters. Recently over the last couple of months i have bought a house in the country, no real close neighbors. My shop has a room were I'm far enough away from my house that it's not a problem for the family. I have probably invested almost as much time to play since I moved in as I have over the past 3 years. My spirits are up and I look forward to jamming now. New gear only helped for a short period for me.

Isn't it funny how in a short time your fingers do remember what to do?

Yes a prime example is my grandson and I sat out to play a song I had not rehearsed or played in over a year, it took us a few but we got down in no time, and I have aprox. 30 different song ideas

And I no longer sit and play them every time I pick up the guitar!
    Cheers

I prefer to keep trying to put new material together, that’s the reason I record it with my phone and put it on my YouTube channel,
So I can remember what the melodies where!
    Cheers

    Here's a good one...

"Creativity has much to do with experience, observation and imagination, and if any one of those key elements is missing, it doesn't work."

    Bob Dylan

I also like a quote from him in that rolling thunder thing- went something like this: "The purpose of life isn't to find yourself, the purpose of life is to create something."

Ok I'm burnin' daylight here, I gotta go get busy.:hbang:

"Does it come & go in waves?"......Only when "Comfortably Numb"!
Seriously though, I think everyone goes through this at times. When I start feeling that way, I go back in time and listen to deep cuts of stuff I have not listened to in a long time! Give me new inspiration every time!

This is my living room and what company has to see when they walk into my home. It's a mess and I need to clean it up, but, who needs a fireplace in south/central Louisiana anyway? (And there is more stuff off camera too :) ) Makes it quick and easy to pick up a guitar and make some tunes.

Plug that Furman into a variac, and get that voltage down to 117VAC. I think you'll like it. You may want to tweak the tube biasing a bit.

I've been going through something like that. I haven't plugged into any of my amps at home in probably 6 or 7 months.

I'm in a band, but we haven't been able to practice since earlier in the year. We've just been playing a couple shows a month, and we all know our set list so well that we've been able to get by. Usually a day or two before a show I'll pick up a guitar, and play unplugged to get my hands and fingers back into shape, as well as lose a little rust.

I feel kinda guilty, because when I was a teen just starting out I was constantly playing. Now I just find myself doing other things. I still love playing, and always will, but the inspiration just isn't there.

Your response reads like something a low grade cretin would come up with but I try not to judge based on someones limited humanity.
