every incremental upgrade in speed seemed like such a breakthrough. People on T1, laughed at us all...

I remember when 56k arrived & the Napster trials started. For most consumers, that was a boondoggle. Downloading at a blazing 56k for a shitty multi-generation mp3 would take 5 minutes per song & you could spend hours downloading a full album, which would sometimes be barely discernible as to what you were actually listening to...

People w/ access to T1 servers understood that the technology was there to transfer high resolution files in a timely manner...

my point is that women have never been "easier" to deal w/... :)...

They are inherently complicated & can't even figure themselves out.

Wait a minute, this is only about 15 minutes a shot right? No one was talking about housing a main frame indefinitely.

I wasted a lot of time on usenet groups back in the day... I think they're still there, but under Google's umbrella.

We had a web tv for a while my dad got it in the early internet days what a pos that thing was. I used it a few time for a few limited website here and there it worked with ebay when it was first starting out.

Our first pc was a 75mhz dell i believe. It had windows 3.1 and i remember we put windows 95 on it.

I do remember the AOL thing being the first online setup the whole "welcome, you got mail" wasnt AOL so much a minute or something? Then i remember my brother got a little laptop with netzero, i remember downloading a few things off napster before it got shut down.

I thought WebTv was cool as shit... I remember a big group of friends all gathering around the TV browsing the internet for pics of dead people. There was some seriously sketchy shit going on back then.

I worked with a lady who got a $200+ phone bill because of AOL. Whenever she got on the net it called a city that was 25 miles away and she loaded up a bunch of long distance minutes.

yeah, I bought my Hamer, on ebay, back, around '96, IIRC...

    Hamer92.png

    among other things...

My GAS started way back then & hasn't given up since. :)...

I got into photography, which became easier to get online, than musical instruments. I remember that came from Pennsylvania. IIRC, I paid $595 for it. Waiting for it to come across the country via UPS was pretty nerve racking. It was the 1st time ever ordering something like that used from an individual. There was no paypal, so, I most likely sent a check, the guy cashed it & waited for it to be cleared, then shipped it out.

    was it rottenmorgue.com ?

yeah, webtv was an introductory course, like the Apple version of AOL... :)... AOL was for n00b's, but webTV was even more elementary than that.

I think Microsoft ruined it, TBH... When they took over, it was never the same, so I ended up building a PC & loading it w/ Win 95, which was Microsoft's worst OS ever. I ended up learning so much about computers, because my brother, who was a computer science major, had to come over & fix that POS about every other week. After so many x's, I learned all the fixes myself & pretty much could have been a certified tech, at that point. I ended up fixing a lot of friend's computers that were Win 95 POS's, quite often...

I raked up phone bills with AOL when we went over the 100 free hours of internet access:lol:.. cancelling them was a bitch to deal with...

I remember looking for the actual "search" bar on the screen when it was inundated with ads....
