Hi, I am looking for amp settings for The slash Appitite For Destruction tone.
I have a Marshall DSL100, an eppiphone les paul studio deluxe limmited edition, and an eppiphone les paul standandard. If anyone could help that would be awesome!

    ROCK ON!!!!!!

Sell your gear, you'll never get to sound like him no matter what you do.

Do you honestly think we would know what Slash on AFD sounds like in your ears or how your amp sounds in your room, with your speakers, string gauge, pick-ups and playing style, and then be able to recommend appropriate setting for your amp based on this telekinetic information we've picked up? :wtf:

Ok let's put this to bed.......
To sound like any guitar player you first buy a guitar, secondly buy an amp,third....LISTEN to HOW they play any given song!!!
ITS NOT WHAT YOU PLAY,ITS HOW YOU PLAY IT
    (emphesising not shouting)
from what I remember of slash's playing I think he plays 5th and 8ths when playing chords so that's a good start, now turn the gain down,he doesn't have a lot of sustain, mids up,treble about half(he's not a glass cutter),and keep your bass down, the bottom end you can hear is from the production.
I've said before that I can get a slash sound from a strat copy and an orange amp,I really can!!,it doesn't matter what you use it's all in the attitude

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY(and this has been said before).......

Don't forget the top hat and cigarette!

I'm not a big fan of trying to mimic someone else's sound, you should just try to create one on your own. But if you really want it that badly then you should sell your amp and get the afd100.

if he's 12, how does he have a dsl 100 and 2 epiphones already???

like I recently said to someone else on here, if you want slashtone, you have to have a sharp hack saw, and sneak up on him at night, cut his hands off, cut your hands off, and have a doctor sew his hands on your arms.

Hey Man I wish I could help you out, but I own a TSL and I'm not a Huge GNR fan but if you figure it out please stick around so you can help out the next guy that comes around asking. I know it was mentioned before but lots of mids, half on the treble, next to no bass, low gain... that should get you in the ballpark.

Tell ya what Landshark, IF anybody can come up with a generic set of settings for the damned sound we need to make a completely different permanent section where all the young-uns who wanna be slush incarnate can go and get immediate guitar hero satisfaction.
