Hello all. My name is Leo. I have been playing guitar since 1979. In high school I played a 78 JMP 50 watt. Then I went to a rack and have been playing it since about 90? Ish. Anyway I finally awoke and wanted my old JMP back but realized what I had paid $500 for was now going for about three times that. I started reading this forum and today picked up a JCM 900 slx 50 watt (2500?) for $600. It has EL34's and I am loving it so far. Anyway I joined today because of how much I have learned from all of you the past few weeks. Thanks.

The sunburst is an 83 with a factory Gibson branded Kahler. I bought it new when I was 14 I think. I saved up for 3 years mowing lawns. When I was eighteen and Les Paul's were dirt cheap I traded it in to music land in linden hurst NY for like $300 towards a guild bass I think. I regretted it beyond all belief. I watched out for that guitar for many many years. 5 years ago I see the identical looking LP on E bay. I had to have it. I paid up too. &1,600. When it got to my house and opened the case the original sales receipt with my name on it was still inside. Yes, it is the same exact guitar serial number and all. Needles to say this will not be posted on your great deal post but I will never let it go again. I used to play dimarzio x2n's. After my first Jackson with EMG's I switched. I know some will call it wrong but all my LP's now have EMG's . It's a big part of my sound. This one has an 81 at the bridge and a 60 in the neck spot. The black LP is an 84 and set up identical. I use one of the two as my main guitar for shows.

That is crazy you ended up with it so many years later. Wow!

I like The EMG's(actives)for hard rock. Preferred the 60 in the neck and 57 in bridge as well as the 85/81 there too. Passives are what I jive with best though. The EMG's are silent and I loved that about them too.

I saw it with my own two eyes. Brad did a great job in a tough spot. His version of snowblind is one of May favorites.
