So I thought I was ordering a set of Vintage '52 Tele Pickups, but it turns out I got mixed up and ordered the Tex-Mex set by accident. Trying to decide if I should try and return them or just try 'em out. Does anybody have experience with these?

Stick with the Vintage '52 Tele.
No I do not have experience with the Tex Mex.
If you wanted '52's that is what you should get 'cause Tex Mex will not give you that.

Tex-Mex are usually overwound, so they have a fatter tone. More midrange, but, they could come off as muddier. Definitely not mid-scooped, nor overly bright. More bassy & full in the mids, not dull though.

At least that's what I get from the Strat Tex-Mex...

I'm trying to get away from the overwound dark "muddy" pickups I've tried. I want my Tele to sound like a Tele, especially the neck pickup.

yeah, I have a pair in my violinburst tele & I have one in the neck of my Kramer proto...

These pickups have a high output, very clear.
