I own everything Warren put into print.
Waddy Wachtel his main guitarist is a huge influence on me.
When I saw the thread title, I immediately thought of meditating in silence.
IMO, silence is a very spiritual and healthy thing to contemplate and be within.
You have the capacity to wander anywhere and clear your mental palate.
Being alone, brings us within ourselves.
Play your guitar.
Play loud or play soft.
IMO, it's a cleansing from all the shi$t we're expected to do.
Be within yourself.
It's lonely and a crowded place.
IMO, isolation is a needed gift and healthy.
I lived alone in my old bachelor house for 12 years, then I met the Missus I need solitude time each day, in my guitar room. If not playing, I'll spin vinyl and let the speakers fill the room, and semi-consciously pick out the nuances of the songs. Auto-lift of the tonearm wakes me, and I do it again I liked hearing Waddy's stories here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bO7GjD2uAs0
I was told by Monsignor Sam at St Robert Bellamine church that solitude/quiet is a gift for lent; a sacrifice and a healthy personal gift to ourselves.
