    To make you feel comfortable that the chinese virus is gone and it is safe to get back to your everyday normal life???

    I am not sure myself!? I think hand shakes will be a thing of the past. What about crowed bars, concerts, flying in planes, going back to the dirty gyms, hugeing your Mom, going to strip clubs, etc???

    I have not the answers and I was asking myself today about these questions. I believe I will be very cautious because even when this is over this virus does not just disappears, its still there until a proven vaccine comes out.

    I believe life has been changed to some degree for longer than we think.

    Thoughts?

    When the denizens of on-line fora stop bitchin' at each other about elephants and donkeys in threads about viral pandemics and the medical fora folk quit moaning about what ungrateful sons of bitches the musicians are...

    All I gotta say is it's a DAMN good thing I'm not a single horn dog with ZERO prospects out looking for love, well lust at least, in all the wrong places... Wait a minute, dammit, I am single!

    Likely to stay that way a bit longer.......................

    I'm waiting for the strip clubs to open again. Thats my standard. Once they are opened again all I'll have to worry about is possibly meeting another future ex-wife or the occasional case of pink eye.

    Focused hype with intent. They could have just done this and ran it every day on the news:

    Globally, pneumonia (an infection of the lungs) kills more children younger than 5 years old each year than any other infectious disease, such as HIV infection, malaria, or tuberculosis!

    In the United States, more than 250,000 people have to seek care in a hospital due to pneumonia each year. Unfortunately, about 50,000 people die from the disease each year in the United States. Most of the people affected by pneumonia in the United States are adults.

    from the deep of my heart ¨normal¨ is something I think will take a long time until we call the reality normal again.

    In the end of the day it´s up to us. It´s all about resilience and our ability to adapt. IMHO the reality as we knew until dec /2020 is gone. we are going to live in a different reality in 2021 and I think it´s going to be better. but before it gets better, it will get worse. so brace yourselves, winter is here. but we will survive it.

    This is a very good question, and I can't think of a good answer. Not to be an alarmist, but here are the problems that I see:

    1. I don't believe warm weather will make this thing go away, as we see people in Australia and Singapore suffering from the virus;
    2. We'll never know if you can interact with people as the virus can be transmitted by asymptomatic people;
    3. The self-isolation likely will dramatically reduce hospitalizations in a month or so, but there is no assurance that we got rid of the virus;
    4. All it takes is a handful of infected, asymptomatic people going back into the workforce to start this shit all over again.

    The only thing that would give me comfort would be a vaccine, but that is months away at best.

    For me, I would either have to catch COVID and survive (immunity), or get the eventual vaccination (immunity).

    But on the other side of all this the world has to change.
    This could have all been avoided if there was an open, transparent, globally agreed response to emergent viruses.
    Governments have to declare as soon as a new virus is identified.
    Then the airlines and all local transport has to lock down for 1 month.
    Local isolation for the country affected.
    Global assistance for the affected country.
    If we did this it would all be over before you know it, and the economic cost would be negligible.

    One more hope is that countries without a national health service might get one after all the sacrifices their citizens are making.

    I wouldn’t go that far, crumble away, thats pretty negative and hopeless, you may as well then go end it all with an attitude like that. You simply need to realize things will be a bit different for a while but in time it will get back to normal, I do believe people will be a bit more germaphobic.
