It's used and listed in good condition.

    OMG, what a pig.

The strings were bad and it didn't have a high E string.

The chrome was dulled and rusted.

The top had glue residue left from something.

So this is in good condition?

I love 335's and thinlines are high on my list.

    But, no!!!!

WTF is the GC adjuster thinking/doing?

    Fire that SOB now!!!!

Question is, did you slap the manager with both hands?

That has 6 strings in the picture. I wonder how long it has been there.

As bad as the descritions and product quality from GC, I cannot totally dismiss GC as a total F$$KTARD organization.

They do have an occasional deal even though, those who name and grade product, are clueless apothetic millenials.

The consummer needs to be informed even though GC is mostly uninformed.

I have my eyes on a used guitar, in a GC store a galaxy away from me, that is a great deal because GC doesn't know what they have.

IMO, you need to know the product you're looking at.

I'm no guitar expert, well, compared to this GC guy, I'm Einstein.

    He was scary ignorant.

If I was in management at GC, I would have fired this guy on the spot.

The same goes for their "guitar adjuster".

Mike, at the Somerville GC store, is an excellent evaluator and truthful employee.

I've always had great and honest dealings with him...........same with Steve at the Cherry Hill GC.

At least you could try before you buy. Gotta give them credit for that. I was in that same store yesterday to buy a harmonica for my nephew. :yesway:

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

    GC stores vary so much.

There's a constant turn over with employees for a good reason.

IMO, it must be a crappy organization to work for, little room for advancement and a wastoid sales force.

GC occassionaly has a decent used selection but a very bad "buy it now" policy.

You either, need to be desperate to sell to them, or have product(s) to sell them that you have little cash into and will still come out with a good deal.

There's also the idea that you're fed up with the private selling dance and want to dump something soon.

Me, like everyone else, want to come out with a more favorable deal and, hopefully not blink.

Like I said, GC has a lot of employees that are forgettable indiduals in their sales force.

They're infested with uncaring ignorant employees (many millenials) that are destined to hopefully move on.

Like you said, the GC stores vary so much. Especially when it comes to how they describe their used gear (and the quality of pics). I was just looking online at something the other day that was listed as "Great" condition and you could see rust on parts when you zoomed in!

For example, I've bought 2 used guitars that were listed as "Good" condition. One was an Ibanez PS60 for $150, and when it arrived, it had a chip on it (to the wood). It wasn't on the face of the guitar (silver sparkle finish) and for that price I took it anyway.

Just the other week, I saw an Epiphone Brent Hinds V w/case for $610. I called the store and asked them to look it over (something I do now) and he said it looks great, so I bought it. When that arrived, the case didn't look so great, but the guitar was totally fine, I would have listed it as Great or Excellent.

That's why you gotta love the 45 day return policy, although on used stuff you do lose the shipping charges.

As I've said, GC stores vary a lot.

There are times when they really don't know what they have and you can score.

Other times, their flotsam & jettsom grade gear and they're clueless.

You need to know what you want and what to expect.

You probably know more than most of GC employees.

I once drove to the Boston GC and I spoke to the store manager many times about a Guild hollow body guitar.

I asked a boat load of questions and felt that the trip was worth it.

I drove about 250 miles one way and this ass totally misrepresented that guitar.

I drove home and bought nothing.

I did the same thing and drove to Falls Church Va. and returned home a happy camper.

By the way, the Falls Church store was not GC.

Good means average, you want a good one it needs to say great or excellent condition

    guitar center condition.jpg

I like their used stuff, imo any more its better then craigslist i dont even bother with craigslist any more screw those idiots.

My problem with guitar center is their images are inconsistent.

Some will be good, a few of the front, the back the neck, everything and some will have one shitty image or none at all.

imo they need to tighten the images and do it properly or dont list it at all. Some times they reuse images and imo thats wrong also.

They also need to be consistent on when they mark stuff down, they told me usually if things dont sell used after 3 months it gets marked down and some times that dont happen, some times it does
