Have had the Origin 20H for a week now. I really like it. I thought about buying the 50 w but decided against it , because what I needed was something with the possibility for sane volume levels. I've got 2 73 JMPs if insanity is required ! Plenty loud, surprising how much power .5 watt is. Full power opens it waaayyy up. I have been using a touch of attenuation with it, 2 clicks on my Power Brake. Doesn't like too much. Does this sound "exactly" like my 73s? No, of course not. All / most the tone is there, just not as BIG. Asked my wife the other day "how's the new amp sound?" She said "Pretty much the same as your other ones" I've played through a couple of other small "all tube amps". Meh. When turned up a bit (ummm...most of the way up, lol) this snarls and growls with the beautiful glowing old school distortion I love so much... Good for the money? Just plain good!
i hate when they do that. mine does that shit too. i get the "why do you need another guitar"? she cant hear the difference in any of them. i gave the hell up so when she asks i tell her "cause i dont own a purple one in this shade". it seems they do it to kill our joy. im sure of it.
My wife only knows that the Origin’s are loud as hell, because if she is home I ask her to move her car to the drive way !!! Mitch
.5 watt replaced most of my dirt pedals except fuzz. this is not a "for the money" amp, this is a great amp period that happens to be in the reach of almost anyone outside of a broke teenager that has to buy his own gear.
I love ya vintage modern , I have the 2266, and I tried it tru a 2x12 of greenback H/M mix , this week pretty loud , and you could hear the 30watt H really pushing the bass out , I had to turn the body down ever so slightly , not much just a bit - sorry to change lane's on the thread here - I would love an origin and I had the money to get one when they first came out , and that was the plan ,but I got a mint 2525c offered to me , where a guy brought it to play in a church , but it was like taking the devil in there (my words not his), but he obviously found it a bit of a handful for church music
I love your assessment of the origin. Most just pass them by. I liked mine so much the 50H . I bought a second one to run in tandem with my first one. No regrets. Mitch
