Welp, we had a blizzard over the weekend. Really socked us in in some places. I read that the county has every single plow and road grader available and in service. Several major highways are closed indefinitely. Daytime temperatures are in the teens and 20s, nights are single digits, but then there's the wind as well. Day before yesterday I dug my driveway out about 12 times before I gave up, dug a guy out in a small car when he tried to conquer the mountain ranges of drifts in it, helped my older neighbor shovel her driveway, and then last night it all snowed in again. Forecast says snow all week. Schools are closed, daycare is closed, everything's friggin closed except where my wife works. So today, I get to stay home with the kiddos after I drive the wife to work. Her car isn't going anywhere, not unless I get out there and dig it out too, and then she'll still be too scared to drive it in this weather lol. My boss, "The Sausage" isn't going to like to hear it, but hey, that's just the curl of the burl, man. Sun will come up tomorrow, the Earth will still be spinning, life will continue, and this will all happen without me being present at work, so he can eat a bag full of dicks. Snow day for grown ups! What will I do with it? Maybe I'll load a chain up in my truck and drive around town looking for stuck motorists. I've been that guy in the snow or the mud, watching other people drive by without looking twice, it sucks! Maybe I'll just sit on my ass and stay by the fire. Haven't seen weather quite like this here in 20-30 years. I was beginning to think that "global warming" was maybe even real. Nope, just the normal cycle of things over time. Old man winter is back, and with a vengeance.
