Definitely going to change out the speaker, thinking of putting in a Vintage 10. I play mostly blues and blues rock.
I see a lot of guys switch out the tubes right away.
    Any info or suggestions?
    Thanks

I would reconsider the G10 Vintage and look into a G10 Greenback or G10 Creamback,.... if it was me. But then I'm not a huge fan of the Vintage 10, which is now the G10 Vintage. I currently have a Vintage 10 in a Marshall 1-10 combo and its ok at best imo.

But good tone is so subjective what I like has little bearing on what someone else might like.

I say play it every day for a month and then and only then consider changing tubes and speakers, you really may not need to.

My DSL5c came with a TAD 12BH7A-STR final and I absolutely love it.
The preamp tubes seem to be standard Vietnam Marshalls, and I changed mine out for NOS Mullards and Sylvanias.
I routed my cab out for a 12" speaker and I have a WGS Green Beret (Greenback) installed. It just barely fits...

Your DSL5cr should be similar, except for the tube layout and a few internal component changes.

I replaced the speaker in my DSL40CR fairly quickly (5 months), but only because I wanted to play around a bit. There was nothing wrong with the V Type that it came with and I am putting it in a 112 cab some time soon (forever delayed) to go with the 40CR.
Do as @pedecamp said and give the stock parts a fair crack first. Some upgrades may actually be wrong for that amp or your ear. Find out what you don't like before trying to fix it. It's all subjective and an expensive experiment.

I looked back through your other posts. Do you still have the 8 Ohm Quilter 112 cab. You might be best to try a new 16 Ohm speaker in that and run the DSL through it. Almost any 12" Celestion will probably sound better than the Ten-30 that comes as stock.

Went I was shopping for a new Marshall I considered the Dsl5cr and also routing out the cab for a 12", but I decided on a different amp. I'm interested in this mod though, how does it sound? Is there a very noticeable with the 12'?

I put a 10” Greenback in mine,I believe it helped tame some of the highs and added a little more thump to the bass, but the stock speaker is actually pretty good especially if you play high gain stuff.
I haven’t tried any different tubes yet.

I already went with the G10, couldn’t wait. Both speakers are brand new but the g10 made a huge difference, sounds good to me and I don’t want to try others at a hundred a pop
    I’m satisfied
This little amp is awesome! Great build quality, really a great little amp

Now that’s a serious mod! How do you like it?
Since I just got it I’m not ready to go that far, but I did switch out the speakers within a half hour

I don’t blame you, Quilter are nice solid state amps but once you plug into a real Marshall,.....well you know,....

Have you owned any Marshall amps before?

I would leave it as is. That amp is great in its stock form.

this is my first one, really like it!
Quilter makes an awesome product but the tubes are a little different, special.
