I can’t wait !!
Missed his April 19th, 2019 show in Kansas City, but saw him twice in years past. EXCELLENT!!
Have a blast Jon. Cheers Mitch
Jon...he doesn't look like that now ya know.
Have you listened to or heard his latest album?
I haven't but am curious.
Just listening to Diving Bell now.
A comment off YT:
"Reduced to tears..emotional on a different higher plane....breath taking..stunning..masterpiece..listening to the cd right now..Im twice removed from yesterday...music to be heard in heaven..and God created R.T..thank you soooooooooo much."
RT is still making good, guitar-centric blues-rock albums the way he wants to make them. The word “icon” gets thrown around a lot but it fits here. Hope it’s a great show.
Hi BP !!
I’m Robin Trower fan El Supremo !!
Have followed his career as long as I’ve been listening to music!!
Friends and in regular contact with several dozen folks who are directly involved …… ( would just be name dropping to list , let’s just say Wee Lisa , S. Shail, The Alchemist and Eric K. are all close pals )
I’ve spent years sussing and cataloging lyrics ( ALL of them )
Playing guitar and bass covering dozens of his songs …
Seen him in concert 14 times……
Fashioned my tone after him…
So , yep, I’m hep!!!!
So Jon...what about the show!!!..... C'mon man give us the low down !
He played some songs…
Now you got me looking for tour dates...
LOL …… just messin with you brother !!
Here’s the Set List ……
Richard’s strap popped off during Rise Up !! That P Bass almost hit the floor !! He caught it and didn’t miss a lick !
Christopher Grinned the whole time with incredible Meter……
Robin plays with So Much Soul !! Pure Aural Bliss !!!
Wonderful Night !!!!
He’s back to England now …… East Coast US in 2021 if we’re lucky !!
He’s doing a few dates with , get this …… Maxi Priest this summer in the UK
Doesn't look good Jc, nothing near Ohio, I guess I'll be flying to the UK. I wonder if my wife would like to go?
Jon, someone asked previously which amps he was using these days.
Last video I saw he was saying that he was going to give a Bluesbreaker(s) a run.
What did you see on stage?
He was playing thru 3 heads and half stacks .. A 1987 on a 1960AX , A 2203 on a JCM800 1960 and Another 1987 on an 800 1960 …… Laurie had him mic’d with a couple 57s located close edge on the upper left , both on the 1987 rigs …… Richard was through Ampeg Class D 1000s on Two Ashdown 8/10s ……
Thanks for that Jon. Must've sounded phenomenal.
I thought he used Vintage Moderns. He at one time even had a JCM900 with some other stacks.
I’ve worked on Robin’s amps for the last 15 years. Love these guys and been lucky enough to become friends with the band & the crew(all two of them..lol).
His setup the last part of the tour was 2-Bluesbreaker HW heads & 1- JCM800 head. Each head has it’s own 4x12 cab. The BB HW heads go into G12-25’s(greenbacks) & the 800 goes into 4-Vintage30’s. Robin’s guitar is fed into a 4-way box(but only using three of the inputs). No stereo, just 3-way mono.
Now... on the truck we’re 4-Vintage-Modern’s, 2-1987 heads(with the bright caps cut out). Three brand spanking new JCM800’s & the 2-1962HW heads! Rich has a Ampeg SVT III head besides the 2-SVT heads.
Both Robin & Rich are tuned down a whole step.

Happy to answer any questions anyone has. We keep a set of gear here in the States and a set in U.K. Makes air freight about 95% less expensive...
Hey Don …… Great to know you’re here !!!
The Hand wire Bluesbreakers were what I mistook for the 1987s …… Congrats on the Strat Signature Brother !!!
I got to meet Eric K. In person last Friday …… It was a great night !!!
I hope it was ok to try and explain the personal nature of RTs more recent compositions to your friend Bruce…
