I don't know Louis aka Tone King personally, but when I saw some clips of this "Guitcon" event, I just thought, that he is an absolutely friendly and genuine kind of guy amongst some others which were peacocking around there.

To me he simply represents the "average Joe" guitar player, who just loves guitars and amps and he wholeheartedly shows and shares his passion with his viewers, what's a nice thing to do.
    So what's wrong with that?

Nobody treats you to watch his videos.

I agree with Moony here... Imo, take whats offered, if its helpful great, if its not look else where.

Chapman and those at Andertons can get a bit too campy and silly, but thats their shtick... Something for everyone out there.

On a side note... I did find this video of him really rocking out! :metal:
It starts from the 18:40 to 21:30.

True, but Rob was a guitar teacher and taught a lot of kids back in his early youtube days, that's his market. I rather imagine a lot of Andertons customers are also kids and younger people. So grumpy old men may not like their shtick.

He probably is a cool dude. Not once has any of his videos shown me anything other than how distorted an amp can get and what it sounds like out of tune.

But why continue to watch his videos then if that's your feeling?

    You make a great point.
    I guess I'm a grumpy old man...LOL

I guess if I were younger I would dig it. I was no different when I was younger, maybe worse...LOL

I don't dislike them, just don't find it as appealing.. To each their own...

He reminds me of Danny DeVito only larger.

All this criticism of Chappers & the Captain:),what do you guys think of Paul Glover & Henning :D.
I think they're all very informative if a bit quirky.

I've not seen any recent "reviews" with Paul, but quite a few in the past,he's a scoucer with a very "interesting" style:D.
When I made my comment I hadn't watched the video, but now that I have,i think this is one of the most toned down dems I've seen from the dynamic duo.
Plus Chappers was very bang on(impressive),& I also think he's playing "old fashioned" stuff much better than he used to.
Very impressed with the Victory & the Egnater,i'm going to check out some vids.
The only Egnater I've heard live was a great big thing with loads of knobs(like a JVM) the guy playing it was a very modern "metal ?"type guitarist,i had no idea what he was playing, but he & the Amp sounded incredible.

I think there could be a smidgen in there, I also hear a smidgen of Satriani at 21:04 mark.
He made a really great connection with the guitar and amp, some inspired playing there.
Pretty cool for what it is...

I'm 57 and I like their videos on the whole - they don't take things too seriously! (and better than the American ones which all start with some dude saying "Hey! What's aaaaapppp!".......)

Like someone else said - "top gear - with guitars instead of cars"!

Andertons is a shop advertising stock. Chappers is a businessman advertising his guitars and his band.

It's one of my favourite shops and they're probably both good guys. But Chappers is irritating as fuck, "Hey, look at me! I'm doing stuff! I'm so whacky!"

And somehow Lee has his own channel of him playing lol.

Still, excellent customer service and range of stock. And soundproof booths to test kit. Can't argue with that.
