Making my first trip down under next week for business. As I’ll have about 25 hours of butt-in-seat airplane time just to get there, I’d like to stock up on some authentic Aussie tunage to get me in the proper frame of mind.

I’ve got the classic rock “usual suspects” (Acca-Dacca, INXS, Midnight Oil, etc.) covered. Looking for current Oz pop/rock artists less known in the Northern Hemisphere. Go!

The Hard Aches. They tour relentlessly - so you may catch them in your travels.

edit: sorry - I thought you meant live. Still they are great - some great songs.

    Others:
    Motor Ace
You Am I (check out Berlin Chair)
    The Screaming Jets
    British India

Lots of Marshall sounds on the Jets.

Have fun when you come down here. Bring shorts.

    Steve.

They're like the Australian AC/DC..... oh wait never mind lol.

Cool band remembered for the song Marseilles ( which does kinda sound like the Young bros)

I hope you guys can provide him with a time machine.
I think he meant that he wanted to see a band that still exists.

I don't know of any worthwhile current Oz bands. Do you?

A combination of me going out to see bands less, and the demise of the beer barn pubs that used to shake the surrounding streets with great bands :( Gotta go to festivals to see any high profile new touring bands, which means enduring the dross that accompanies them...
