Congrats on the birthday present...I want one too...
Hey brother those origin amps cured my gas for a 1987xl, for the time being, and when I listen back to how my phone records it I smile! Cheers Mitch
Nice Mitch, sounds great! If I lived closer to you I’d love to stop by with my little Fender bass and do a little power trio thing!!
i learned a great lesson this past week..got a 1960bx greenback cab..that at volume on any of my marshall circuits is the sound,,,you can drop it down but as you do..you jus start hitting pedals,,and eq changes to compensate..it is what it is,,,the equation for the tone & gut punch-singing sustain,,involves a certain level of volume..me..its my passion & have to be in an environment that allows the amps to do their thing..i get the bedroom thing..weight...and all that..but there will be a compromise vs just plugging a guitar into a marshall head into a 4x12 cab & letting it rip..same as it ever was..since it all began..i have X amt of years left on earth & it aint going to be spent squashing Marshall goodness..
That would be an awesome experience, sans the mileage between us! Cheers Mitch
Yes! It's true what you say, at least from my own stand-point. I don't currently own a Marshall, but I have 15 watt Orange Dark Terror. I don't own any drive pedals, just a HOF reverb pedal pedal on the effects loop. The gain and grit is just that good that I don't need to enhance it. To get that Orange “sound” the amp has to be rather loud. Lowering its volume and stepping on a pedal changes it to something other than Orange IMHO.
OP, Congratulations on your Origin purchase, and when it comes round....Happy Birthday! I was wondering about that amp and the SC20 new amp now out. If it were not for the fact that I'm kind of partial to Orange amps, I'd be researching them in anticipation of a sea-change in what Marshall is now offering Marshall amp lovers.
Time to play.
Happy birthday and welcome to the Origin club!
Love my 20C.
That's the way mate, I must have band practice this week, I gotta crank it again!! :-D
