Just ordered a 2012 JVM 205H... in near mint condition.

Should have it probably next Monday or Tues.

Looks to be a relatively short learning curve... hope it sounds as good as my other two amps!

    I like the flexibility....

Thanks dude...um, I just thought about it hard thinking what I wanted from a gigging amp...none of the amps I had before were perfect for it... I just hope it's ballsy like either my 2204 or the DSL 100...both of which sound awesome.

I've seen videos of your band, I've heard the music you play, this amp will fit perfect in what you do. Throw your favorite tubes in it, plug it into your favorite cab, and just rock it! Does it come with the 4 or 6 button footswitch?

Meanwhile watch this while you wait for your amp and learn how to operate the footswitch. Forward to 8:30 in the video. :yesway:

You may well want to do the neg feedback mod to open up the tone more. Kind of like an 800. I did it with mine. Variable. Works great. It's one wire and you're a smart cookie!! Sounds great, you should love the versatility!!
    Can't wait to see it.

Thanks Dude, could you kindly explain what it does, and what is involved doing the mod?

    Thanks!

    Adrian...see the thread below.
When the JVM forum was down, many of us placed mod instructions here.
for the easy Negative feedback mod, 1st page, almost all the way down...

    http://www.marshallforum.com/threads/jvm-mods.101251/

The JVMforum.com is up and running again and is a wealth of information.

    A 'high level' description...
The negative feedback sends some of the signal from the 4ohm tap back to the phase inverter to keep the output stable.
by doing so, some signals get cancelled out.
the value of the feedback resistor affects which signals get cancelled.
putting a potentiometer in the circuit, gives you the ability to adjust the cancelled or not cancelled out frequencies.
Too low resistance, output can oscillate.
Too High, Output can get muddy.

Very cool man. Give it some time for sure. I will be very curious where you end up running the Gain level on the OD channel.

If you can post what brand of pre amp and power amp tubes it has, I would greatly appreciate it. I am still running the Ruby EL34 BHT's in my JVM 410H. But I am only running two EL34's in 50W mode. I might end up switching over to JJ 6CA7. And plan on experimenting with KT66 later on as well.

I know that my amp is a bit heavier than my buds 205H. The iron in thew 410H is quite a bit bigger.

Thanks Rick, I've been sort of liking the 50w route option more lately. Lighter to move around and way cheaper to try out different power tubes. Incidently your last ressurected post also had me buying a duet of EH 6CA7s. Would you stop it??! Lol....Gonna go bankrupt visiting this place!
