Hey Guys, Please help me get motivated to play my gig tomorrow night. We are playing a small bar out of town that I know doesn't draw a huge crowd and i'm dreading it. This little place has no idea what's about to hit them (Two Marshall Halfstacks/ Les Pauls). I just know there gonna be a few drunks lurking around and that's it. I'm kinda bummed but being a team player. Can you guys post some tunes or something that will get me motivated for this gig?
    Thanks Gang!

Jeebus Eddie if you're not used to playing to empty bars by now....... lol
Is your $ tied to the attendance ?
They will be telling you to turn it down.
Now's the time for you to shine 'cause whoever does hear ya will be spreading the word. So be awesome.
It's part of the game man. Leave it all on the floor.

Well if it wasn't fun to play, then why do it? What I mean by that, is that you are doing it because you like to play, regardless of how many pairs of tits are staring at you from the crowd. Play just to play man.

Plus 1. I looked at those as a rehearsal and sometimes I never played better. It can be fun.

Look at Phish. They play just to be playing together as a band. Somehow people just show up to watch. :D

It doesn't matter if there are 3, 30 or 300+ people there; play like you mean it. You never know who may be listening. It's hard when there is little crowd to draw energy from, you just have to do it!

I have played for some thin crowds that were more tuned in and appreciative of the band than most packed houses.

In these days of social media, the band has only got themselves to blame for a thin audience.

I totally hear you guys! I'm not trying to whine and yes I've played many nights to an empty house but for some reason tomorrows gig is just dragging on me. Most of our local gigs are pretty packed but this one is out of town so no one really knows us.

I've played on the national level to thousands of people and have had nights where its only the bartender. You take the good with the bad I guess. There is something to be said for a packed crowd screaming back at you and showing their boobs.

Wish I can offer some helpful advice, but I only play to packed stadiums.

Sounds like you need to get this going over on Ticket-tron.

Your mission - should you choose to accept it - is to drive home after the gig saying: "NOW they do!"
