I just converted my new Origin 20c Combo to a 12" Celestion 30 Anniversary. No matter how hard I hoped, I could not find a 10" speaker that sounded good to me. So I had to do the Mod. For anyone considering it:

First Disassemble the amp & remove the Grill Cloth & Gold piping

Cut an 11" hole for the new 12" Celestion and Countersink the speaker mounting threads
12 Hole.JPG New Celestion Fits snug, but fits Cleared.JPG
Amp Re-assembles back to stock, everything fits. Back.JPG
    Modification Undetectable, amp sounds awesome!

I have an old Bogner alchemist I use for a cab since the amp is unreliable. Thinking about wedging one of my Origin 20 heads into it.

Looking for something I don't remember what.
It's a shame there isn't room in the 5 watt combo for anything bigger than the 8" speaker it comes with.
I've been thinking of transplanting it into an old '80's Master reverb combo I have that the amp requires attention.
I will keep you all posted if I go for it.

I'm pretty sure I would have done the same thing.
I have no idea why they put 10 inch or 8 inch speakers into a guitar amp. The difference with a 12" speaker seems obvious.

Every combo Ive had with a single speaker less than a 12 didn't sound full to me. I don't know if its psychological or my ears but I don't like them.
