Honestly I've never tried. Maybe I will tonight. I've had the treble and mids set in the same spot for the past two years lol. I'm only a little past half way on the treble side so I'm sure I could brighten it up a bit.

    Holy chit

I saw that video while browsing demos, great job on it. It is definitely one of the ones that pulled me toward the PT.

I have not tried the 20, I have owned 2 15's and really loved them. Oddly enough, my preference was to set the red channel for a "plexi" tone and then put a BE-OD into the green channel. Not the normal method, I'm sure but, it worked well.

Now I've been watching SC20 videos all morning! This one sounds awesome but he's got it cranked running into a load box sooo

When will the penny drop for some , master up gain down tube screamer in front if you want to avoid the fizz and keep the volume down . But the amp itself needs the inherent sustain and gain to begin with .

I don’t know about the PT20 but the Jcm800 Studio fits the bill perfectly!

Get a 2203x if that's what you like, I've heard you say many times it is your favorite.

Oh, it absolutely is my favorite but it’s too loud. As soon as the volume knob started making noise it was knocking things off the shelves. If volume wasn’t as issue I wouldn’t play anything else. I did try an Attenuator with the 2203 and that didn’t work well at all.

I’m actually thinking I may try a vintage modern, I hear that the MV is quite good on those and that’s the 1 Marshall I haven’t tried.

The switch is not a big deal either way. Voicing of amp is unchanged. I asked Dave about that. The one I had was a newer version with the switch.

Btw, Sounds great. The fx loop is great.

I play my 2204 through a 2x12 of 75's, volume on 1, use pedals for gain, its perfectly acceptable home/bedroom volume and excellent tone without shaking walls. :yesway:

Once again I’m gonna bring up these volume boxes. They work in the loop and act as a Master Volume, so you can crank the amp as loud as you like,....dime it if you want,....and you will control how loud it is with the box. They work great!

I got mine on Reverb on sale for $20 regularly $25...Carl’s Volume Box.

MF has a JHS Little Black Amp Box Pedal for
    $45.

I know I've asked you about this before, but... was the Kemper not the gas killer that some make it out to be? It seems you're gravitating back to higher-end tube amps now.

Tried to load this an ' Andertons' video from YouTube but doesn't seem to play . So anyway if you go and search YouTube :- evh 5150 iii lbx ii - so much more than just brown........ You will see why it's the only amp I need ( and at half the price of the new Marshall studios ) watch right to the end I'm sure it will surprise a few . Btw the vid features Bea and Pete , the two that can really play ( sorry Rob & Lee , it's the truth ) .

No, it was not. After the honeymoon phase I wasn’t really happy with it. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good but it did lack the feel of the real thing. I was always tweaking and adjusting and there was always something missing that I just couldn’t put my finger on. After the Kemper I got a dsl40 and was much happier. The only Kemper profile that I was really happy with was the Van Halen 2 tone that I bought, can’t remember where. So, yeah, I’m not planning to go back that route, I’m sticking with real amps.

Given the 2203 is your favorite amp, I think the Studio Classic is the perfect fit for you, Phil. I can tell you with absolute certainty that if you start with a PT, you'll be wondering about the Studio Classic before the PT even arrives, and it will just be a matter of time (likely a couple/few weeks) until you dump the PT and pick up the SC. Even if you find that you don't like the SC as much as the big brother 2203, you'll at least be in a position to make an educated decision to look elsewhere.

That would be the complete opposite line of thinking for me. :fever:
