Just ordered the Epiphone Old Glory from MF.
Got the 48 month finance deal for $15.00 a month.
I applied my $21.28 bonus reward points to the order........so, it should be less $'s.
I'll call Jared and let him know.
Good on ya.!!
Review with pics when Old Glory arrives !!
I was supposed to get a UPS delivery of "Old Glory" between 2 and 6 PM today.
Now I'm told that it'll get it delivered tomorrow (Saturday) between 2 and 6 PM.
I know that the guitar will sit overnight in the cold on that UPS truck.
I'm not a happy camper.
It's going to be a cold HNGD.
Hell, I worked today to cover NJ State Workers Compensation offices in 3 different counties.
Being self employed means hustle.
I really didn't need to do this.
Deliver mother f$$ker.
I was told by MF that I'll get delivery in 3 or 4 business days.
It'll be 5 or maybe 6.
Mr UPS gets no sympathy from me.
Mr UPS better be on time tomorrow.
They delivered old glory to the wrong house, btw nice axe dude!
Well, it arrived via UPS around 12:35 PM.
The soft/hard case is much better than I thought it would be.
The case has good protection; light and not as soft as I would think it would be.
It holds the guitar firmly and, what I see as, soft fur and a neck secure wrap.
The strings were loosened in shipping and it was double boxed with bubble wrap.
Since it was a delayed shipment, I was having negative thoughts of a tire track on the box.
It arrived safely.
I checked the neck and the truss rod needed tightening...............I tightened the rod after I restrung the guitar with a set of D'Addario 10's.
BTW, the neck is chunky but not overly thick.
Comfy for my small hands.
With the strings off, I lemon oiled the ebony fret board.
The frets are medium jumbo and have a little bit (very little) fret end sharpness.
I'll dress the frets in a few weeks after playing it.
The finish is a matte black but it seemed to have a shine with rubbing it.
The binding is neat and the blank truss rod cover didn't have the blurred/sharp/jagged edges that a reviewer mentioned.
The truss rod cavity is neat.
The Korean pots were neatly soldered and there appeared to be no drill slippage that was mentioned in an earlier review.
I took off the protective plastic from the truss rod cover and "Blues Power" badge.
I lowered the wrap tailpiece a complete turn and restrung the guitar.
It plays extremely well.
I'm using it on a gig tomorrow.
It'll be with another guitar.
All in all, well worth the $15.00 a month finance deal from MF.
Pics soon on a HNGD thread.
