NGD- Fender Squire Tele- with bass boat sparkle paint Red. This squire is made in Indonesia and the condition is great. the neck is a sanded finish and nice contour. and frets are not rough nor needing filing The paint sparkle metal flake red really caught my eye. I played numerous teles at GC. I played this Indo model against Mex teles and US and the pickups on this Indo model had better punch than the ones in the Mex or US. Playing the Indo model without amp this guitar is lightweight and has endless sustain. Things I will change. Tuners don't look different than Mex mdoel but this will be one of the first things I change out. any recommendations for replacement tuners? Pickups may take a while, I want to play through these for a while before changing. any advice on best pickups to consider?
best deal- it had a small chip in the paint so I got this for $160US.
The GC staff were really attentive at this store and actual guitar players. That's quite refreshing.

I did manage to finally play a 40 DSL combo and that thing is really nice. I used this amp to test all the teles. what a suite of sounds out of that marshall.

if you change the tuners out go with locking tuners.
at the same time go for a graphtech nut too.
    best improvements you can make.

for years I wanted one but never pulled the trigger. My quiver was missing a tele. It is a versatile sound.

dont go ballz out changing everything at first. this is a guitar that you
can really take your time building up. dont snub used parts either.
looking at it i can see 100 things that CAN be done to personalize that jewel,
or, you can leave it as-is. nut and tuners is the first thing i would do if
it were mine. nut being the first. this is your first but wont be your last tele
    i promise you.

I tried to remain impartial to the country of origin and price tags. My wallet wanted low price but my ears wanted quality. I have a Gretsch made in Indo and its outstanding quality as well. But truly my ears heard a better sound from the Indo model. The Mex model tele was $600. I wonder if the tele hardware is the same across locations??

    probably not. different price points.
i have a GC exclusive tele that i would put up against any.
its plays and sounds amazing. its just sick. im gonna swap pickups at some point just to see
whats out there. might go lollar, SD, or Fralin.

    new strings as well.

Is it just me or do you feel the same? I was constantly tuning and trying to retune the guitars in the GC. I think from a manufacturers perspective that $5 spent to sort of dial it in before leaving factory would go a long way to selling more product.( dialing in= some attempt to adjust action and tune prioer to leaving factory. I understand that it will need to be retuned but nothing tunrs me off more than trialing a high end guitar where the action is rubbish even though I know it will need to be set up) Most guitars had actions that were over 1/4" off the frets and was very sloppy. These guitars were $1000 over the price of my tele. shocjked that Fender and others don't quite get that. IMO

    Congrats Crikey!
2 Tele's in my stable and love'em both.
I'm pretty sure you're going to dig right into it. Don't over look the neck pup to dial in some sweet blues tones. And for some added great fun tune to open G and rip some Keef!!
