If the pots feel cheep fling em . Up grade all hard wear . Nice lines and neck. That thin neck is a tone factor . Rock on

Well goddamn. Post a NGD thread once you get it my man.

I will. Except on the third fret there is a slight crack in the board that goes in a little and trying to rearrange something with the seller since at this price point that is unacceptable.

I plan on doing a complete overhaul of all the electronics and such.

Nah, that’s from one of my friends, he’s a major name in the guitar painting world, he was at the custom shop at the beginning of December.

Thanks for the review. Nice to get a consumer objective review.
Just an observation, not a criticism, you seem almost apologetic (conditional?) about liking the bling. That's part of BCR. That would be like saying you don't like it being pointy. If someone doesn't like it fine, BCR is not for you. But there is no reason for anyone to be apologetic about liking the most outrageous offering they can come up with!
That said, I could see a market for them to make a bling-less model of something like the Mockingbird. Solid color, *maybe* minimal binding. A workhorse that should cost considerably less.
But in the mean time, bring on the bling!

Yes indeed I do come off that way. I know the abalone isn't for everyone, but I like it.

I also wouldn't mind a work horse ironbird with 1 pup, floyd, 24frets, blank ebony board, reversed headstock, in a satin or gloss black and with bevels.

Congrats on the new axe. Shredzilla? It looks like it'll practically play itself.

Is it a new model as I didn't realise BC Rich were still getting guitars made in Korea?

Man back in my first band our lead guy had an ironbird and I got stabbed so many times with it that I finally snapped and said next time I get poked it’s going up your a$$.
    Never got poked again ;-)

Guess its not just me. That's what I'm talking about. Come to think of it, Work Horse would be a good model name, too.

You know that's why they are called shredders.

I just want something simple. Over the years of wanting the fancy shit for guitars, the simplistic stuff just works man. My perspectives on gear has just changed significantly over the years, especially the last 6 months

There’s a reason that so many guys still play LP juniors.

After what you have found, is it worth getting? Did you get it from Red Blanket? I'm so close to pulling the trigger for one just like this, 6 string possibly cherry but maybe matte black.

That button placement may be a deal-breaker for me I can't stand the button behind the horn instead of at the tip because the guitar wants to tip forward that actually may be a deal-breaker for me but I emailed BC Rich to see if there is a way that they can put the strap button on the tip of the horn

I dont think they will put it at the top of the horn. That would have to be a modification for you to do on your end. I haven't found it to be much of an issue. Initially, it was weird but I have adapted.

To answer your other question, the guitar is 100% worth getting. I would get it from Red Blanket and actually call them and see if you can get yourself a deal on it.

Do you have any specific questions about it so I can be more specific instead of vague?

Does the guitar not wanna pull out from you with the strap button on the back of the horn? I had a BC Rich beast that did that and it was annoying when playing live.

I mean it is a slight feel, but I play in the classical position and I pretty much eliminate that.

With the beast I am sure the body shape had some effect on that issue for you
