Site is saying image too large, so I’ll describe. She’s a player’s condition ‘96 Classic Goldtop. It says 1960 on the pick guard, but it’s not a RI. She’s awesome!
She has the high output ceramic pups, and a ‘60’s neck. She plays like a dream. She came in the post yesterday, and all I had to do was tune and rock. No set up required. Won her on eBay for $1050. I’m one fortunate guy in so many ways. Most of all because I have a wife that likes how guitars sound and look. I play originals and covers, mostly ‘90s rock (on the heavy side, i.e. Tool and AIC). So the ceramic pups that a lot of people don’t like, suit my needs very well.
She weighs about 9.5 lbs (IMO, perfect). It’s my first LP since I was in my early 20s, and it was a Gibson “The Paul”. Think the Bob Marley guitar.
I lucked out and got one of the good ones! Although I hear early/mid nineties Classics are really good as far as Gibson’s QC at the time is concerned.
So stoked I can barely stand it!

Those were not bad guitars . The necks were a little slight for my hand and I didn't care for the pickups , why I never got one . But still, they were pretty good . I don't think that was a bad price for these days ..

I was lookin at the current production "Classic" yesterday . A black one caught my eye , With P-90's !! But alas, the neck just wouldn't do

Early/mid 90’s LPs are something special-get em while they are still affordable

Thanks! Crazy, but I did a similar post on TGP, and all I got was piss and vinegar. Nice to be somewhere where musicians are friendly to each other. I swear there’s a couple dozen guys on TGP that troll every thread. Sorry for rant! Thanks again!

Thanks! That’s a beauty you have there. The nineties Classics were a really great run of Lester’s. I think history will treat them kindly.
That’s her, I finally figured out how to upload, yay!

I left TGP because of the trolls and boutique community.

Yeah, I think I’m done over there. Unless you’re in their clique (I don’t a lot of them even play), post at your own peril.
