Hey guys, long time lurker, new member. Figured it was about time after my latest purchase. Just picked up a 1989 JCM 800 2210 yesterday. Got a good deal on it locally here in Madison, WI. Great sounding amp, can't wait to go to a jam session with it. I actually shot it out in the store with a DSL 100 (didn't sound good with my reference cab, V-30's) and a JCM 900 SL-X (actually sounded really nice, could've gone either way to be honest but 800's have a soft spot in my heart).

My first gigging amp back when I was a teenager (32 now) was a Valvestate 8240. That was the first "real" amp I bought which started the GAS. After that I had a DSL 50. Then I found a 1985 2205 for an absolute steal. If I would've known I could've sold it for twice the price years later, I wouldn't have unloaded it, but so it goes.

I then bought one of the best amps I've ever played, a 1979 JMP 2203 in white tolex. Unbelievable sounding amp, cleaned up beautifully with the volume knob and had that perfect raw rock Marshall tone you dream of. Sold it because the band broke up and I'm dumb. Decided to right my past sins this week and do the right thing by getting another 800. Hopefully I can be satisfied now, but you know how it goes.

Anyway, sorry for the novel. Thanks for having me!

    Welcome Naveed.

Good intro and no need to apologise for the novel: we love stories of this kind.
Well, I shouldn't speak for everybody - but I myself like them.
