Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum and I would like some advice. I have the opportunity to buy a brand new JVM205C for $1350 or a used TSL601 combo with hardly any use for $850. It's my first Marshall. Which route should I go? Thanks!

Personally I'd go for the JVM, even though it is more expensive.

I generally dislike multi-channel amps, but if I were to pick one, I'd definetly pick one of the JVM series.

I am a huge JVM fan but I also like the TSL but not for the same styles.

JVM=Great tone at every genre, especially high gain

TSL=great tone at classic rock and blues-I don't care for the high gain stuff the TSL puts out

    Hope this helps!

On a JVM combo, would I be able to run the speakers that are in it and use a 2x12 cab at the same time?

Yes, the JVM has several options on the amp, i run a 1936 cab and the internal speaker.

Nah. I wish! I bought a barely used 1936 2x12 on eBay. I'll be all set when the head gets here!
