.....uhhhhh, because eventually you would have a household full of printers, and wouldn't be able to get in and out of the door?

Printers are made to be disposable. As a consumer, it's not my fault the dumps are filled unnecessarily, the onus is on the greedy manufacturers who know that their ink cartridges cost $0.30 to make.

They say the technology is in the print cartridges. The problem there is print cartridge technology is over 20 years old. If computers followed this same thought, they'd still be $10,000 for a base model....

First, I would never buy an HP "anything."
Any company that charges $5 a minute for tech support is off my list forever.
(plus, I think their products suck.)

    HP Software:
If you like ads for HP products popping up on your screen all day long, install this software.

    Second
You can buy all the ink on Overstock - for about 1/5th the usual retail cost.
I have used this ink for years, and it works just as good as the $$$ ink. Saved me a crap-load of money.

If I were buying a printer, I would probably buy an Epson.

I have a large photo format printer, that will print out larger plans and schematics. This is a Cannon S 9000.
I like it because I can print 11-1/2 by 24 or larger schematics..but that's just me. I like full size or enlarged prints.
The entire set of 6 ink jet cartridges costs less than $20.

Do people still use ink printers? Laser printers are a lot cheaper than they used to be.

Yeah I got a Laser printer, but it doesn't give me all the adjustments / colors / and options.

Spend the money if you want ink. Who disposes of good workjng printers for a few bucks?? Landfills and recycling are already a nightmare.
They sell the printers for cheap as a lost leader sometimes just to sell ink. I mean, a 30 dollar Canon printer scanner copier??
So we spent 30 on a printer 3 years ago. Likely another 200 in ink. But it's the same thing if you print stuff - spend 200 on new printers over 3 years and dispose of good workjng units? How is it any advantage to get a new printer with limited ink??

Check on Amazon. Recently got new cartridges for my home office printer. New was $100. Amazon knockoffs were $30.

If you aren't using a laser printer you are wasting everybody's time and money.

I just don't get the printers brand of ink cartridge and buy the $10 - $15 high capacity sets on Amazon with Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black cartridges. Worked perfectly the last couple of years. The Epson ones cost $27 each. So over $100 for the set of four.

All manufacturers sell the printers cheap or even at a loss expecting most customers to buy the correct branded cartridges at full price.
