Epiphone LZZY HALE custom (diff truss rod cover and pearloid guards front and back) showed up on my doorstep tonight!

    First thoughts: gosh it's sexy!
Neck feels a touch thicker than my other Goth explorer.
    It's heavier than my goth.
Setup is good but I'll drop the action a bit when I get time to play it.
    I frikkin LUV explorers!

Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers really aren't bad, I may not even swap em out! We'll see as it grows on me.
I generally swap pups in every axe I own.
Apparently these are Gibson 57+ copies and they sound identical.

I tuned it up, and installed Schaller Straplok buttons immediately.

    Couple pics.

Congrats! Looks awesome. I have has a Epi Explorer pro TV silver. Bad balance, bad sound, the body was made of crushed pieces of mahogany glued and pressed. I never bought an epi anymore. But It looks great.

I hear ya. I've owned 6 or 7 epis. 1 was crap but looked amazing, 1 was just barely ok.
One sounded amazing and my epi goth explorer is my best player of all time. A few of them were middle of the road.
This one so far is as good as my Gibson for what that's worth. This comes with graphtech nut and an ebony board.

    1st upgrade, Schaller straplocks
2nd gold truss rod cover. It's a small change, but it was needed.

I tryed the Gibson Explorer Lzzy Hale from a friend and It has a perffect balance. No neckdivers.

It's true modern Gibson Explorer are neckdivers. I hate that in a guitar.

Explorer in my avatar balances perfect as does my LP, but my SG is another story.
