DSL40CR seems identical to the current DSL40C.

An extra letter in the name costs £250 more than the current £499 blowout deals....

OK so it looks like the R signifies reverb to emphasise that feature like Blackstar do. The 40W Combo (now 40CR) and 100W head (now 100HR) options stay but we have new 1W and 20W DSLs, both in HR and CR versions. This will probably mean that the 5W and 15W DSLs are on the way out but will allow Marshall to directly compete with the Fender Bassbreaker range too.

With this lineup why would you buy a Blackstar or a Bassbreaker? This is a case of Marshall aggressively saying "this is what we do so get off our patch! "

I don't know about the "R" = Reverb. I mean the amp always had reverb.
Previously CV for Vintage / CS for Stealth. Don't know if there were others.
    R = Reissue ? // Retro ? // Rodeo ( with chaps leather instead of Tolex ) // Radioactive ( doesn't require electricity ) // Rad ( comes with separate channel EQ's )./
    Anybody ?

Nothing to mind bro. We actually know nothing about the DSLCR so your comment has no basis in fact what so ever.

you have no damn clue what I may or may not know
    at this point. right?
no better of a guess than I do about how much money is resting
in your pocket right this second.

didn't you already get into trouble once today for just popping off
    at somebody?

Yep, I stand corrected. The 1W and 20W models have the R in the name but no reverb listed in the specs on the Thomann pages at least....

Re: DSL40CR. You know only what the rest of us know, gleaned virtually from the Thomann Music posts which revealed nothing.

Interesting that Marshall wants to expand on the DSL line. Not sure what to make of this decision. Interesting to see how people react to it once we learn more details and see a few demo vids.

My guess about what "R" means: tube rectifiers, baby!!!!

Maybe the "R" stands for Romulan
    (Joke for Trekkies)

I think the best news here is that Marshall is still producing something besides sunglasses.
We had a depressing thread on here a few months ago about Marshall maybe going out of business.
