I got a set of matching PA 63 cabs for my offset head from Tom Vintage today with the Hawaiian Goose express! Really cool! I was´t sure if the head was recovered but it just have a thin spay of black over it the vinyl is other wiseexactly like the cabs, a little "smoother" than the some what later "smooth black" vinyl. You rarely see this stuff so its hard to compare. Sound great with the old Alnico Celestions! Did a quick and dirty iphone recording on full blast! The phone is doing some rather heavy compression but you get the idea! (At some point some one drilled holes on the alongside of the cabs to be able to mount them on stand offs. I reused the holes to mount two new input jacks so I can jumper the cabs course the offset only have one output jack.) best plexi and thanks Tom for letting me have these!
Very cool! Interesting jacks and hardware. The very first generation of Marshall. Thanks so much for the pics and the video
Thank you !!!! I usually don't let go of my vintage Marshall's but when I do I prefer they go to Pleximaster !! The cabs went to the right place there with you and your Offset !!!!!!! Amazing sound too !!!! Now you can move those cabs to each side of the room for some surround sound !!
These just came up on ebay... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Mar...718478?hash=item211c5c18ce:g:q3UAAOSwo4pYTs3q
Looks like a nice set of pinstripe PA cabs from 67. Hard to tell if logos are original but they are correctly spaced. If I were to buy I´d ask for better close up on logos, tolex, handles and screws. The quality of pics make it hard to see if these are pro recovered cabinets. Too many PA cabs have suffered the donor fate. Vinyl, logos, hardware, grill cloth and so on... The vinyl on the pics look a bit to course (and very clean) for original but it could be an optical illusion. Too bad about the replaced speakers. I would ask the seller straight out if these were original or recovered and it the cloth is original or Eric Collins good repro. plexi
At first glance these look like recovered , EC regrilled etc....too clean and shiny. No serial plates, no original speakers , new screws , new rubber feet. Possibly complete replica and not original vintage Marshall. Agree with Plexi as to donor cabs and inquiring about the details on these. I have asked the seller for close up hi res pics.
