    Hey folks,

I'm wondering if someone can help me put a price on this cabinet. I've never seen another after years of searching for the top cab, but now I'm too old for lugging around 4x12's. :)

    JCM800 - Lead 1982B
    400Watts @ 8 ohm
    Serial #: 5139
    4 x Celestion G12H-100
    - the magnets are stamped T3594 - which I think dates the cab to 1985
    - the cones are stamped 1777

Almost new condition except a little fuzz on the grill cloth (stupid cat), and has the vintage cover too.

Any thoughts on what it's worth? Thanks in advance :nutkick:

I really can't help you much but I have a 1960b with the same speakers and it sounds incredible. I much prefer the 100 watt Celestion over the 75's. I imagine your cab sounds just as good or better. I'm deeply saddened to see it go on your behalf.:wallbash:

It's awesome, but I also have the 320 watt top and I really don't need all those speakers anymore. My 900 just doesn't sound the same on 4 ohm either (running both cabs). On top of that, I've only been using my DSL40C... although it doesn't compare to my 900.

Price it the same as most JCM800 cabs, but some pics and your location would help.
G12-65's cabs are more sought after and still only bring $400 - $600 depending on condition.

I'm curious, but you are selling the 400 watt cab, so you like the 320 watt cab better? Or just rather keep the A cab?

I tried uploading some pics. No dice.

Yes, just prefer the A cab. Sound is different but I just don't use it. I like the sound of both equally... but they don't sound the same at all.

I'm up in Canada. New Brunswick to be specific.

The thing is, I have searched for a matching cabinet with the same badging and speakers and I have never EVER seen another (for sale) after 25 years of looking. My front badge says "JCM 800 Lead - 1982"

My 1982a cab just says jcm800 lead series on the badge..my cab is 1981 production, it has the Rola Celestion g12-80s..1777 cones, but not the 100s.

That cab is in exceptional condition, but I see similar cabs sit forever in the northwest at $400-$500.
$600 tops, if it had G12 65 in it.
"Non vintage" black grilled 4x12's are hard to sell, and aren't as popular as even 10 years ago. $300-$400, in average to rough shape, and they will still sit
    on Craigslist.
Non vintage meaning a step down after 1973 and pulsonic cones, and, another step down after 1978 and the blackbacks.
I love them all, but it's just reality. The G12H 80s and 100s sound great, too.
And, there may be that one buyer (like me) who would pay more for a super minty clean cab, (if I was in the market for an 800 series)
    My two and a half...

Not sure where you hail from because you did not bother to indicate but 4x12 cabinets of similar type have been going from under $200 to over $500. It is not stable.
Use your salesman tactics to get the most possible in your area.
Do some research in your area.

Yea probably my favorite speaker at the moment. Really honks with the 2204.. Found it on c.l. for $275. Cab has a few snags in the tolex but for that money still a steal.

I think if it's only worth 500 bones, I'll just continue using it to hold my drink while I play the other one
