HI GUYS THERE IS AN AMPCHOHOLIC HERE!!! Well guys I just got home this animal its a beats I like a lot very dynamic and organic amp , I jam yesterday with and I like a lot the low input the other one its good but I dont know the low input works fine for what I need it for I guess I have the cascade circuit!!! I am gonna restore it new grill cloth , knobs witch I already order and the handle but I been having problems finding somebody to sell me the faceplate so I will appreciate it!! but I have a major problem when I was doing the clean up and general maintenance that i do to every new amp I get like cleaning sockets , cleaning pots , tight up nuts etc.. ,I found that the main fuse was wrap on aluminum foil and burnt besides and I dont know if the Ht fuse has the right values so guys i hope you help on picking up the right fuse i been reading a lot some say that has to be fast blow some say its slow blow , besides that some say it should be 2 amps for the main fuse and some say should be 4 amp because change in voltage from Europe and the last thing what valves are the right ones a gut a the store told me that must have 6550 but it already has E34l's Groove tubes and sounds very good I haven had the chance to read about JMp and vintage Marshall specs Thanks to all of you ampchoholics for the support on this terrible habit!!!
Congrats! Great amp for sure. Don't use This fuse, replace it. ampchoholics? Hahaha! Yes! The firt steep is to recognize It. Me too. But I always enjoy with my amps, all of them, the Marshall's and the others too. My problem it's always I'm thinking need two more
Yeah thats what it looks like!! The main fuse says 2 amps but i dont know the voltage ithink it should be 250 v slow blow
Here’s some interesting info about the 6550 and EL34 tubes,..... http://www.marshallforum.com/threads/el34-vs-6550-power-tube-differences.96743/
For a 100W amp the main fuse it's 2 A in 230 Vac or 4 A in 110Vac(American voltage) both slow blow fuses. In 50 w amps I think it's 1 A in 230Vac (European voltage) and 2A in 110 Vac (American voltage). Could be L3A in 110Vac (American voltage). L it's a fuse that blow normal. Some people use it but it's not the 100% good. 2A fuse 250v it's good for you if your socket voltage it's 110V
Brother Maybe it's a 3A slow blow fuse because I'm seeing in my JCM900 MK3 50W that It is 3A in 120VAC.
You can buy a fuse 3A 500V slow blow or a 3A 250V slow blow. The voltage in a fuse it's the max voltage that It can suffer.
I got an 2 A slow blow at 250 volts a guy that knows more than me told me that 2 or 3A would work but they must be slow blow! Now i have to find out more info why the guy who had it before had el34’s and not 6550 ? I guess i need to find out i what plate resistor it has no?
I used to have a 2104 212 combo, mine was a 1978, MV JMP, loved that amp, my first Marshall! Cheers Mitch
