ENGL Savage MKII first time playthru.
Engl are superb amps. Congrats!
I want one.
I had the first generation of the Savage and I absolutely hated it. It sounded thin and didn't have any real volume to the sound. When I say volume I don't mean actual DB's, sounded weak. I had it looked over by my tech and it came out with a clean bill of health but still sounded terrible.
Fast forward a couple of years and I ended up with an Invader and a Special Edition, now those two just flat out destroy. Love Engl now. Curious to check the new one out.
I’ve got a Special Edition EL34 version. I agree, it’s a truly amazing amp. If I recall Engl history correctly, Blackmore played a Savage and loved it. Some of that went into the signature Blackmore amp. I saw Ritchie with Rainbow in 2016 and last month, and he is playing a old Engl Sovereign 1x12 combo. Very vintage British sounding amp.
I’ve got three Engl’s. All three are lifers. No complaints at all.
Wowzers, good sound and defined too!
I have a Savage 60w Mk.I and I simply love it. A few years ago I've bought the KT77 (EL34 originally) retube kit from eurotubes and I simply love the amp.
Sometimes I feel like my ENGL is not being used properly because I'm noodling all the time with the 5153 50w head or the modified Major. But everytime I play the damn thing I have a huge smile in the face like "hell yeah!".
Great vid man, keep the good work.
What noise gate are you using?
Amp has its own built in gate..but it's set super low.
