I find with the early design amps it's quite easy to drive the input past the point where it sounds nice. Hot pedals to me often sound better into the low input. Or turn the pedal gain/volume down if you go into the hotter input. Every older design Marshall has great cleans in there. Somewhere.
EL34’s. Just had my tech go through it, replace the caps, new Mullard EL34 RI’s and putting a Granger PPIMV in as we speak. Will report back..
Yea, that’s true. Nothing wrong with the Shiva, but I’ve owned one before. First time owning a JMP. I did order a Bogner Ecstasy Blue pedal to go in front haha.
I run a Zen through both my JMP's (72&77) works for me. Im not a fan of adding a MV. Check out the 77 JMP. FWIW
First things first, Awesome amp! I would say for a pedal, almost anything from Keeley should sort you out nicely. I have a Keeley modified blues driver and it works on all my Marshalls from my lead 12 to my TSL 100.
