My used marshall cab that I bought that came with celestion v30s in replacement of stock speakers don't sound good, I can't even get them to feedback nearly at all, and I've got another (pair) of possibly marshall voiced v30s, 8 ohms (these are 16), that kick the living shit out of them, at least they did the last time I listened to them compared to these, no idea why, any thoughts, ideas or suggestions?

Can't get feedback where you did previously...
check your resistance / you might have a pair of 16's wired to be 32 ohms

Did you check the wiring? You got a meter? Check each individual speaker and total cab impedance. Something is wrong...

I had another thread and found they are true celestion only speaks, no mesa checked the serial numbers. Their all wired marshall specification to a marshall 1960a lead cab..

If there's something seriously wrong and I can prove it, I have it under progear warranty for over a year, I could prolly get them replaced

If it sounds like sh*t, take it back.

I have had numerous vintage 30's over the years...and mixed them with G12H's, etc...and when doing so, I would notice one cab sounding nice and fat, and the other sounding thin and irritating in the mids.

I played the individual speakers with wire clips, and they sounded different, even though they had no voice coil rub, or other issues.
    ...same with the G12H anniversaries.

Some just sounded like crap, so those went on Ebay....
Perhaps you have one or two in the cab that don't sound right, and that's enough
    to make the cabinet suck.

    My two cents...

Oh sorry, I was actually recommending Mesa V30s. I reread your post and confused myself the first time.

Put your other V30's in and see how they sound. If the same problem it could be the wiring.

Thanks. Their all pretty much identical, maybe not 100% sound wise, what about wire clips?

Try electronics contact cleaner on the plugs and jacks.
Check total resistance with meter if possible, like mentioned.
Make sure all speakers are in phase. Put a battery, 1.5V or 9V, pos and neg to the cabinet speaker cable's pos and neg on the plug. All four speakers should move forward or upward in unison.

Every amp & speaker combination I play thru sucked.

Then I realized it wasn't the amp or speaker...

New cab probably needs to be broken in...crank that effer for a week or two and see if they smooth out...otherwise take it back before warranty period is over.

Your speakers are out of phase. Check the wiring.

Really easy to tell if they are out of phase...

Generally will sound thin and tinny with no bass.

Use a 9V battery and see if they are all moving in the same direction when touching the terminals to the battery...

So you like lower quality speaker cabinets?

    Hmmm let's see...
Quality always means tone right? I mean clearly building thicker cabs or different materials sounds the same as other materials right?... Oh yea, that's tone theory 101...

    *Facepalm*

Obviously, Marshall's cab quality is junk considering how many old cabs are still kicking ass.. I really wish I could grab one of those 1968 Mesa Rectifier 4x12 cabs... their quality is second to none.
