Mesa Express 5-25- Not Cutting It for Me

    I had a 5 50 combo I bought used for 700 bucks, had it a couple years and could not bond with it at all, put a bunch of pedals through it but just didn't like the sound, I described it to people as sterile but cold is also a good description. Sold it for 700 bucks

    remember, tuning these amps (mesa) is a lot different than tuning most other amps.

    i too suggest you give it another go.
    watch a few videos and copy their settings to get a feel for what your doing.

    Nah, that just isn’t a great design. I’ve had most Mesas at one point of another, the 550/525 just aren’t amongst the best they have put out there. I’d take a Studio Caliber over one of those any day. Reminds me of the Nomad series a bit.

    yea the design of this amp is out there , but the fiddling possibilities are endless
