I have two idential cabs with V30's. One is the Marshall 1960 AV and one I loaded with Avatar Hellatone 60's. Man do they sound different. The Hellatones are rounder with more bottom and just smoother--and louder! The marshall V30's are crunchier, less bottom, super pronounced midrange and thinner. I used the exact same amp with the exact same settings and the sound difference was extremely noticeable. What gives? I thought they were the same speakers? The only diffrence I can tell is the Marshall is a stereo cab (although I always run mon) and the other Marshall cab is straight mono wired for 16ohm only.
