Not bad IMO ! I played on one at my local music store for about an hour , and it was
pretty good for what it is , Digital Preamp with Real Tube output section , EL34 's i believe !!

We also tryed it into several different cabs at the time , and the Vox 4x12 sounded the best to me , next was a Marshall 1960A with V30's !

Again , not bad for what they are shooting for with this product , does it have the big full roar of a full blown tube Marshall ....NO ! but for the price point and what it is , its a very good start for them in this area .

    I agree with HT.

I was able to crank a 50 on a 1960TV and a 100 on a 1960. They are a really decent package for what they are. I liked it best once the volume came up. Really started to come to life but that is classic Marshall right?

The digital preamp is better then some of the other simamps I have messed with but the real winner on this is the classic Marshall power section. There is mojo in the amp but most folks will take a crap on it before even trying it because it is a digipre and made in Asia.

And i think if one was to play with output tubes , you maybe able to fine tune the tone a bit more .....

I was all set to order one when I found a deal on my DSL. Having just come off being unemployed for an extended period of time plus moving my whole family completely across the state...it was purely a monetary decision at the time...600 vs. 1100...the extra 500 helped out on expenses. Damned happy with my DSL, but I am still gas'sing for a JMD...those things sound wicked cranked up.

I have no doubt that tubes and a bias adjustment would do it right.

The JMD sounds awesome. It's basically like having a jmp1 and a poweramp together in one package. Not my cup of tea, but it does sound quite wonderful

    This!

Sometimes those guys don't want anyone blasting away on heads but be up front with them and let them know what you want to do and they will move it in to the "sound room" for you or if it's not too crowded let you go at it.
They hate it when you just plug up, play for a minute and then crank it. They DON'T like surprises. Plenty of kids have gone in and dimed everything.
