I've been a proud owner of a JCM900 mkiii 2100 for a couple of years now. It's a great amp and delivers the Marshall tone that my ears want to hear! Who else has one of these gems?

I'm running her through an Avatar 4x12, with 2 V30's and 2 G12H30 Anniversaries, installed in an X pattern. Perfection!

What are you guys running yours through??

Cool...make sure you've got the FX loop patched if you're not using it..Noticeable difference in performance!

I've been a proud owner of a 2500 for 12+ years. I have some NOS tubes in it and run it straight thru a 4x12 with greenbacks. And I patch the loop! Never parting with mine...

Nice! But that's not a Mk iii; it's an SL-X. Completely different animal.

At the moment it's running through a baltic birch Crate bottom cab from the 80's that is loaded with Celestion 70/80's. The hole in the grill was from a flying Charvel when the cab still had the shitty stock speakers still in it.

I have a Mk-III 2500. When I first got it, I didn't like it. However, once I plugged in the right guitar, with the right cab and with the right settings, it suddenly sounded fantastic! It's a very nice amp

    Got the 50W here.
    Been neglecting it lately.
When I was playing it more regularly, I would usually plug into an old 1970s 4x12 of Emminence.

The little combo is is definitely one of the great compact amps for throwing into the car,
    Small package, big sound.

But the 50W doesn't do loud AND clean. Maybe I should look out for a 100W,

Absolutely. ALL 900 series amps need this in their FX loop if it's not being used. The reason is pretty simple. The bypass circuitry the guitar's signal as amplified by the preamp travels if the FX loop is not used, just simply doesn't have the *bandwidth* man..

The patch cord allows for maximum preamp signal to hit the power section of the amp. Be sure you adjust the loop for optimal gain.

I feel like these are very overlooked amps. I love the dual master volume feature. Didn't need to keep a clean boost pedal around for leads anymore! Mine is due for a trip to the bench for noisy pots and a bias...but overall, it's been a great workhorse and I always gets compliments on the tone. Les Paul > Boss tuner > MKIII. All I need.

I picked up a MK 3 last year. I love it as well. Have not taken it out to a jam or gig yet though. That is probably due to not having a Clean channel option on the amp that I am used to having. My MK 3 does not clean up as well as I would like to be able to cover many types of clean tones. But I dig the heavy tones it is capable of.

Love my MKIII. I play it with Greenbacks mostly. V30's sound amazing as well.

Don't have any 900 series amps, but I sure love them. There's something about a stock 900 that just sounds right to my ears. My favorite is the 4100DR.
