    Hi,
there are some Marshall amps with gold line instead of white , any explanation about this?
only aesthetics of the moment or are especial editions?

    thanks,

What color is the tolex?? I assume you mea the piping?
The 30th Anniversary 6100 series has gold piping with dark blue tolex. I suspect there are others with gold pipinb and black tolex.
Why do you ask? What did you see?

I have seen a 1983 800 head in white with factory gold piping. Supposedly a anniversary edition or something like that. They wanted pretty tall dollars for it too if I remember.
Then the plexis have gold , the first Avt series have gold..probably more, but those are the ones that come to my mind.

And the origin as well, the gold piping was standard before the JMP MV line and the JCM line, that’s when I started seeing the white piping, now it’s like Gunner posted !

….and then there is black piping. I had a JCM 2K DSL head that had that. It was a special run at the end of the JCM 2K line for GC.

My JCM800 has gold but it’s where the tone comes from, it’s not for aesthetics.

So do the JCM900 combos (my 4501), where as the heads of the same model have white piping...

The BCM poster on the wall tells me more about him than the stacks do...

He definitely has a room full of fun...somewhere.

    (I was quoting HotTubes....but failed)

There seems to be no consistent reason for the piping colour on Marshall cabs either. 1936 - White. 1912 & 1922 - Gold (certainly not anniversary editions).
