The band I'm in is slightly changing our list to include more covers of songs that other bands have done, more rocked up versions. As an example here are two that we are currently doing:

U2, cover of Beautiful Day by Axel Rudi Pell

Phil Collins, cover of Easy Lover by Jaded Heart

Any good suggestions out there? I tend to like this direction at the moment.

Here's two we're doing with my band:

Both are super fun to play, and allow you to let loose on the lead break (I even add a shreddy outro solo on Maniac).

At Vance did several covers albums that are a gold mine for you, I'd suggest you check them out.

And if you have a female singer, Pink's cover of Gnawles Barkley's "Crazy" is pretty cool:

(sorry for the shitty video, but there doesn't seem to be any clip of her live in Australia DVD available on Youtube atm)

Ram Jam's version of Leadbelly's Black Betty. Forget about Spiderbait's version, total shit.

How about Queensryche's cover of Welcome to the Machine?
