hi guys, after some hiatus, I'm back. Oh man I've been really busy - and still am now. I no longer have time to actively be on forums :(

I'm looking to buy a Silver jubilee 2555 100W head.

I'm askign for Silver Tolex, post 3000 serial number, no mods, good condition.

    I live in Italy (Milan).

    Lucky you, ain't u selling? ;)

It seems that Marshall initially released teh first amps with a different preamp, perhaps a design flaw. The circuit was addressed after number 3000.

I'm pretty sure it's well explaiend somewhere in the forum, look it up.

Oh there's a picture of it on my Facebook profile Louis. Check it out! :naughty:
I'll post a few more on my website when I have some time... dunno when it will be.

to RJTM: even if it's not, I read that many techs can do the upgrade for little cost and time.

Hmm, that's odd. I get a broken link too when I click on it, but I can see it fine getting there from the first link I gave you.

Anyway, the ebay item # is 320767193516
It's a silver 2555 in decent condition. There's a pic of the back panel, but I can't make out the s/n.

yup link works. I'll think about it. Thanks. Tolex is not immaculate, it requires new filter caps too. I'll email about the serial number.
Too bad to see that Jubs are built like the later 2203, I mean with 3 filter caps and pots attached to the board :(

Don't worry about the pots being on the PCB. The way they're mounted on the chassis, they ain't going anywhere.

    They're solidly built amps.

In terms of the post 3000 serial, if you buy an earlier version, they can be converted. Not a big deal. You can also check out the black jubilees.

In terms of filter caps, that's actually 6 because each cap can is a dual 50/50. If you want more filtering, you could go with 100/100 cans but on the jubilee, that's really not necessary.

The PCB mounted pots kinda bother me too, but you think they're mounted ruggedly to the board?

I've always handled the amp gently when putting it down, I don't want anything loosening up.

They're solidly mounted on a thick metal chassis. They're not going anywhere.
