That’s all I do.... set my iPhone X in a chair about 4-5 feet in front of my amp and let er rip
That’s what I do the few times I’ve had the balls to do it but then you have to up load it to YouTube...ugh!
I suck, but it's fun anyway. I know there are a lot of guys on here who can really shred. I just love doing this stuff. Told my wife awhile back that my goal is to finish an album before I die. I will do it all at home by myself with computer drums, but it will be done.
Micky coached me last summer on making sure to lay it horizontal when you record so it will be a full screen
I’m with you. I upload videos all the time and make mistakes etc, but it’s fun.
Same here and it will help me remember a melody, when ya think you have something new, and worth continuing with!
That part of uploading can suck
But sometimes it goes quickly!
I wrote and did my own song! Many people say they like it including a few very tough local critics. The other band members added some good stuff so it was a group thing but I wrote the lyrics and the general rhythm, chords, layout, etc. man does that take a lot of time. I really appreciate the so called Pro's sooo much more now....ugh!
All of the old stuff I have posted with the year 1993 in the title, I wrote the lyrics, and melodies, confused was a combined effort of John the other guitarist and I, but I am the one who wrote all of the lyrics, and I hate writing lyrics!
I heard you play...you do not suck!
I played when I was in my teens but never got serious. Started up again a year ago when I got my Marshall (first tube amp).... I play/ practice every day that I can .... but I’ve got a ways to go.
Same with me brother
Gal left the house for the store, so I hurried up to get some spank on.
Bummer was I wanted to show the JVM 410H Plexi channel and I had the Gain on CH2 set too high. I thought as I started playing it was a bit too dirty lol.
You will hear me call out CH2 Green, CH2 Orange then OD1 Orange.
Then I plug into my white Plexi Rod. That was a bit not right as setting were off as I just noticed lol. I usually have Treble 6, Mid 4 and Bass 4. So it was a bit too much low end for the phone and might have been slightly louder than the JVM 410H
JVM has Ruby EL34 BHT (only running two tubes)
PlexiRod has brand new JJ 6CA7
Guitar strings a bit crusty, same from last gig I played lol.
JVM: MV 1.5, Pres 3, Res 4
CH2 Vol 8.5, Bass 3, Mid 3, Treb 6, Gain 8* (should have been 4 to 5)
CH3 Vol 10, Bass 5, Mid 3, Treb 6, Gain 4
PlexiRod: Pres 3.5, Bass 6, Mid 2.5, Treb 5.5, MV 6
2204Rod mode: Gain2/Vol 6.5 + Treble Peaker, Gain1 5.5
FilthyRod mode: Gain2/Vol 6.5, Gain1 4
You will see me switch the top white PlexiRod from 2204Rod to FilthyRod about the half point of that amps play.
Holy crap RL, that was some serious kerrang! I might have to look into the JVM models. That sounds great.
You have excellent Keerang coming out of both of your amps!
Thanks for the kind compliments Mitch!
Yeah, I want to dig my SL-X out of storage man . . . .
The GAS is a serious condition for sure. Don't overlook the 6100 either. I have the non LM and LM and they are very mean and crunchy with great channel switching options as well . . . .
I was going to tell you, that I remember my SL-X having a very similar tone to that JVM OD channel. I did add a choke to my SL-X and I changed something in the NFB loop as well. When I first got my SL-X all those years ago, it had a sound like a blanket was over the speaker cab. I was not digging it at first.
The other thing that I did not get on with, was not being able to get a decent cleanish sound rolling my guitar volume back - obviously no clean channel on it. But it did have much improvement with a little work. And mine sounds really good with JJ 6CA7 as well as KT66 . . . .
