So the power section is nothing out of the ordinary. I don't see the preamp as being anything that should effect the stability of the outputs, they don't care if the distortion is coming from the preamp section or a dirt pedal.

Exactly. My 1976 Super Lead Friedman Kitchen Sink is stock Marshall Power Amp other than the PI cap and NFB which will not be the issue.

I still have not heard if the owner looked to ensure the fuses are not over rated. That is the starting point.

That Hopkins Marshall board is identical to the one I had built for me by Brian @ RTB.

If you are referring to the board on the cover of my signature, that is a Brian turret board. I populated it and installed it into a 1987 back in 2011. It was my first shot at learning on a larger scale. Figured I could play with it like the components were Lego’s. Worked out well for me. I found I preferred Mallory & Sprague caps over the Sozo’s immediately lol.

Did you listen to the video?

Yeah... I wanted the board to be solid (no through-holes), so that I could wire it from under the board. I had to measure out the standoff mount placements, situated how I wanted the turrets positioned, and sent them to Brian for production. I still have the original template. He decided to post my 1987S rebuild on the front page of his website, which was cool! Don't know what I ever did with the original PCB? That was one of the best sounding Marshall's I've ever owned. Should never have sold it.

    Here's the board...

Thanks I have read your post and am going through the process of eliminating any of these problems which my amp may have. Question what type of fuse should I run and where do I purchase online. I am in the sticks no stores for miles, thanks

Your fuses and their proper rating should be listed on the back of the amp at the fuse holders. Get Slow Blow and check the length as they can come in 1 of 2 lengths. Either 5x20mm OR 1-1/4" x 1/4"

Buy Here at Tube Depot. https://www.tubedepot.com/t/diy-central/fuses-and-fuse-holders

    100 Watt Super Lead etc..
    Mains 4 Amp
    HT 1 Amp

    50 Watt Wtt etc...
    Mains 3 Amp
HT 500mA That means half of am amp.

    Keeps us in the loop.
