I have to agree with him, these EVHs are incredible. they just are not ¨this hype¨ because they´re not expensive. the same amp, with a ¨friedman badge¨ for 3x the price would be the ¨most perfect amp ever¨ for most corksniffers.

    kind of tongue & cheek...

For years, people have argued that he's a Mesa guy, or a Marshall guy. On the 1987 album, it's been said that his tone was created by a JCM800 combo ran into a 1960 cab. (claimed to be told by Ron Olsen to Zakk Wilde)

I don't have anything against EVH. I'm not sure if they are still made by Peavey, or if they contract through Fender now?

Either way, both Peavey & Fender make solid amp's.

He's playing w/ Tony Franklin again. It's been said that Carmine isn't up tho touring, so they have a different guy drumming (I forget who). Hopefully they'll have something ready to take to the road & record an album...

That amp violates my own personal rule of "Never own an amp with more than 12 knobs on its front panel". If they make a simpler two channel version I might be interested. I don't have any use at all for a third channel, as it turns out.

50w head is exactly like this, this amp is simple as fuck. like gain, eq and master volume. believe me, I HATE complex amps and the 5150III is easy as hell.

It's not a matter of simple to use, it's a matter of circuit complexity. Anything more than 12 knobs always indicates an amp that's complicated to troubleshoot and repair. Just not my preference.

It may violate the law, but these are fat sounding amps, lots of lower mids. Not normal, far, far above what's currently available in my opinion.

I admit more than six and I'm thinking, ' that seventh had better be a master volume knob'

I had one of the Stealths and found it to be kind of bland. I was expecting something original for tone but was disappointed. Generic is what I would use to describe it. I do hear the 50 watters are really good but I've never tried one.
