Hi! I am about to sell my wonderful Jmp1c amp. Clean channel works great but when I hit the gain boost it goes ridiculously quiet. This worked fine yesterday. I know bugger all about these things so I'm asking you guys on here. If I'm not getting anything on this channel then I'm guessing it's a valve problem? Which valve do I need to change?

    Many thanks

I have the same amp, And i think it´s one of the Power tubes (2xECC81 (12AT7) )

And i also think it is the tube pointed out on my amp in the picture (some one correct me if i am wrong.)

BTW , Welcome to the forum :welcome:

Can I just buy this tube or do I need to replace the lot? Is this tube specifically for the pre amp? Cheers

I dont know were you live, but there is a guy on the forum having a few New NOS 2xECC81 that he sells, he lives in the UK.

But yes , buy 2xECC81 and change them and you would be OK :)

Thanks. I love in Worcester in the UK. Hopefully these valves are easy to change!

I am going to send you a private massage :)

They are easy to change, just pull and push.

If you are going to sell it, I'd just get a JJ & see what happens. That way it will have a stock type tube...

You look to live, not too far from Milton Keynes. Go to Marshall & get an OEM tube...

Take the amp w/ you & tell them what's up & you are wondering if it's a tube. Call them 1st...
