How many different JCM800 cabinet exist?
I mean, do you have cabinets with greenbacks, with 12T75's, or other speakers with the JCM800 logo on the front?

The JCM 800 cabs were either G12-65, G12M-70 or G12T-75, from oldest to most recent.

I saw a 1982 cabinet with an 800 plate on the bottom left of the front grillcloth. Would this have been put on in the store or by an owner and not an "official" JCM 800 cabinet? It had G12H30's in it.

Yep, just bought one and it has the G12H100 speakers in it and they sound amazing!!! I just have to rewire it 'cause they transformed it to a stereo cab. And I need the 16Ohm to play through a full stack hehe

The 900 cab comes with the G12T75 speakers and in the JCM 800 you have lots of different versions... The build of the cabinets are the same though.
I have the 900 cab for 14years now...

I always thought that the board material was different, are you sure they are the same?

Hey guys, I hate to bring a thread back from the dead but I have an opportunity.

I currently have an early JCM 800 (vertical input) and 1960 Lead A/B cabinets from 2004.

The opportunity is an eighties JCM 800 A cabinet I stumbled onto.
Other than the badge on the front, what's the difference?

Are we talking different speakers only?

Not sure I need it, other than the fact it says "JCM" on it like my head.
Any reason to spend money for it?
Is the collector value really a concern?

    Just curious.

    Thanks!

Not sure on price Chuck - but substantially more than newer cabs at $450-500.

    What do know about prices?

Is a "JCM 800" cab any different than my "1960 Lead" cab?

(Red, I'm very familiar with the 1960/1936 cabs.)

The point of the matter is - I'm not paying a grand for a badge on the front.
Collectibility doesn't mean that much to me in cabinets.

The badge means nothing with JCM 800 cabinets as far as what's in it, and they are not really "collectable".

My 1983 cabinet is a model 1982B with the badge, and has G12H 80's.

The cabinet itself is the same as a 1960 model, except for maybe the grill cloth in some instances. My 1982A has black basketweave, my 1982B is regular cloth.

JCM 800 badged cabinets have been stocked with 5 or more different speakers, from G12H 80's and 100's, G12T 75's, the afore mentioned G12 65's and G12M 70's and probably a few more.

JCM 800 badged cabinets can be both the 1960 and 1982 models and come in 8 ohms, 15 ohms and 16 ohms.

I wouldn't pay more than $400 unless it was very minty.
