I had two over the last couple years. Very good amp. Has the tones to deliver. I didn’t find it to be a “boat anchor” at all. Both had tone sucking effect loops. Didn’t use it. Otherwise, no complaints.

I've had one from new in 84ish. Fine amp. But it is heavy.
ATM I use the clean channel and drive with pedals but I change my approach from time to time.
Apart from replacing some pots and Jack skts the only problem I've had was the channel switching chip failed recently but the factory diagnosed the problem and fixed it.

Saw it tonight, went for it. Sounds excellent. I Own all sorts from 4 holers to 2204s and this honestly hangs. Had a good blast through it. What can ya say! Got to try em.

Thanks fellas, valued your thoughts as always.

Cheers mate! That was me on the Facebook page by the way haha. Off it now again - only reactivate the account to hunt bargains and this time it paid off!

It's not treble bleed ....it's channel bleed ...apparently , but I don't have it . Mine is from '87-88 ,supposedly they had the issue fixed by then

Bought one of these new in '87.
    My first Marshall.
Our sound guy said I was the only sound in the band he didnt have to improve on at the desk.
Got me hooked on Marshalls, that amp did.
    Never failed, always sounded good.

If weight is an issue why not go with a head and a 2-12 cabinet?

I have a VM2266 combo now, and I swear its heavier than my old 4212.
But that was 30 year ago...
