we aint missing anything special.
My Boog copy kills!
I think we got a case of hit and miss by Marshall when building. Some are really good? Many were lemons.
However if this dude picks up a guitar again I hope his finger nails fall off.
I don't get the hate either honestly.
yeah they can kill! IME!
love the tone of my DR. I paid like $300 or so for the half stack.
great money spent.
They aren't that bad. You will get a dept store Marshall tone in a pretty well made amp. I used one for a few yars until i discovered the Holy Grail 6100...............
Fuck yeah! I'd say.
My Bugera 4100 DR rips. I had a Marshall the same years ago. Very proud of the tones I get. Much fun!
thought you were a Orange fan???
Marshall first...then Orange!
both voicings please me.
I love Marshall high mids, articulation and bite.
I love Oranges low mids, articulation and bite...as it is a bit restrained comparatively.
My 93’ jcm 900 el 34 2100 is one of my favorite if not my favorite Marshall out of 10 different models. I would put it up against anything! It’s thick ,rich and sounds like vh1 with a variac,no shit.
Slx to. Clarify.
never had a problem with my 900.
Love the DR 4100, this topic has been discussed to death across many forums, half love it, half hate it; what I take from it (and experience with my own Jcm 900/4100) is that if it’s set up and biased correctly it will produce some great Marshall tones - just not jmp/2203 - what its frequently compared to and in the shadow of.
It's a fun amp!
It's a good sounding/feeling amp.
Ever since I got my 900 Ive been repeatedly told how bad they are. Especially since mine is supposedly the worst of the bunch, the dreaded Dual Reverb.
Thats cool, I love it so I don't care what people think of it. Number of times I'd been told in the 90's how good my tone was........until the same person saw what amp I had and changed their opinion was amazing.
People love them, people hate them. I'm all good with that though I am not convinced all the that hate them have actually sat down and played around with one.
Mines a keeper.
The guy is onto something-to the 80’s guys, anythng 90’s was garbage.900’s and 800’s are two different animals-both are fine amps
SL-X all the way for my Marshall needs.
I've got to try a 900 one day , maybe Ive spent thousands on more ' expensive ' Marshall's and need not have done .
