Jcm 800 reissue vs. Jcm 800 2203x

    I was told these are the same, is that true? everytime i do a search they come up different. Im confused.:(

    The "X" has an effects loop.

    You should familiarize yourself with the Re/production year. This will inform you if there is a loop or not.

    Same thing with the RI 1959SLP and RI 1987/1987X

    Try not to confuse them with the short runs from 1988/1993 and what the hell ever else Marshall did with Guitar Center back in the Day.

    Also become familiar with Serial Numbers bro. It helps a lot!

    Yea i told you there was a confusion, i wasn't comparing them, i just wanted to know if they were the same or if they were different.

    LOL yes they are the same. Marshall has always called the re-issue 2203x. The ones in the 90's didnt have an FX Loop. Im not sure when they started putting in the FX Loop though. Someone else here im sure would know that.

    And, im pretty sure that unless you had a good original 80's 2203 to A/B them that you wouldnt be able to tell the difference tone-wise.

    I have no exact date either,but this when I remember first seeing them in musician's friend.I gassed imediately,and pulled the trigger early in'o2 for a late christmas gift.I think it was around $1600 then,which was a ton of cash for me to spend.I've never been sorry.

    According to Marshall's Wikipedia article, the "X" reissue series started in 2001.
