Not really looking for another cabinet. Just the head would do.
This video will make you fall in love with the VM

If you pay attention to the first minutes of the clip... he gets some of the best tones. Very, VERY hot rodded plexi.
That's what I love about the VM, in my view, it's a hot rodded plexi and JTM in the same box. Just amazing.
Im getting the urge to just get up and get it!! I know a site that has a VM B-stock and i can do payments. Maybe ill just do that? Worst case, if something goes wrong i can always return it. There is a warranty. Or should i just buy it off of eBay or somewhere if the price is right?
I don't like paying interest so I would save for it. You have amazing amps and just got an SL-5
You already know the how VM's sound. It's the sound of Velvet Revolver.
I had the AFD, and in my opinion (just my opinion) the VM does a better Gn'R overall... including the AFD album.
Haha! I know! SL5 is great dude! And the VM is just an amp i need to add to the collection!! I love amps and i love collecting. I just started getting into the collecting phase up until a month ago. Im building my own little studio in my house, so all that room need to be filled
I love that video but I have a strong feeling those are NOT kt-66 valves under the hood.
I thought the same thing! I know Slash had the KT88's in HIS VM on the road. But i think that VM he uses in the video is one that GC or whoever lent to him. And plus the sound coming out of that amp is what has me guessin!
Me thinks EL34's. Obviously resistors changed and biased accordantly.
That or if ol' boy was really going for VH 1 tone they're 6CA7's.
Either way my interest in the VM has been rekindled.
VM is the next purchase 100%...If a Slash Snakepit epi doesn't get in my way
